Adela has run the first two events which were 'Super Hero Window Cleaners' and 'Traffic and Travel'. These events have seen parents and their children making installations, and creating short annimations. The focus has very much been on encouraging parents and children to have great fun exploring their creativity together.
The feedback has been fantastic from both the young and older particpants. "A very enjoyable fun session for adults and children and very well organised", writes one parent, and another said "I enjoyed making my super hero window cleaner. It reminded me of how much I like creating and using my imaginiation." One young particpant just wrote "Awesome!".
The next two family friendly events will see Adela encouraging families to create costumes and perform a piegeon parade, so lots more fun for families ahead.
Adela Jone's work is very much about people. How people relate to each another and how they relate to space and objects around them. For the past 6 years the focus of her work has been on developing live art and performance events in which the audience nearly always have an active participatory role to play. Working with the public is a continuous source of inspiration and much of her time is spent working on projects in collaboration with Galleries, Museums, Schools, Health & Community organisations.
Adela will back here at Lanternhouse for our Hoad Down event, so if you've missed her at the Building Site catch her here on Sunday 22nd August!
