We have a number of rooms available for conferences, meetings and seminars. They are wide ranging: the medieval-style barn with its two great arching cruck beams topped with a curved roof has floor to ceiling windows looking out on to a walled garden with a beck running through it. Our purpose built meeting room comes with a projector, screen and flipchart. We can move meeting room equipment around to suit your requirements and the whole building is WIFI enabled. We’re friendly and flexible, so talk to us about what you need and we’ll do our best to make it happen for you.
When it’s time for a break, there’s a range of spaces and places, nooks and crannies to grab a cuppa and take a breather. Break out areas include a roof terrace with its unique view over Ulverston’s roofs, towers and spires; a sunny garden and a kitchen-diner where you’ll bump into our friendly staff or an artist or two.
We can recommend local catering companies to cater for your event – everything from a good old-fashioned British buffet to organic canapés and local specialities like cheeses, chutneys and sausages. We have a fully equipped kitchen-diner and some organisations like to bring their own food to cook food together as part of their time here. If you don’t mind sharing the kitchen with staff and artists, this can be a special thing to do. Many people tell us this space is the heart of the building. If you want a more private kitchen space, there is a residency kitchen on the second floor.
With seven bedrooms in the building - in their own self-contained area complete with a communal residency kitchen and shared bathrooms / shower rooms - we’re the ideal location for an away day and night.
Ulverston is well connected by rail and road. The train line and roads to Ulverston take you through some stunning scenery. We’re a good place to get away from it all, to get some thinking and talking done.
